Meath Communities Resources Training Centre, a state of the art, multi-purpose training centre, funded by the LEADER Programme, will open in September 2010 and will offer a variety of relevant courses aimed at improving the skills and employability of people living in County Meath. Courses planned for the centre include Business Plan Development, Communication Skills, Rural Entrepreneurship, and IT Skills Training. Meath Volunteer Centre
Meath Volunteer Centre has been active in Co. Meath since 2008. Since then, over 600 registered volunteers and over 160 registered organisations have benefitted from the services of the Meath Volunteer Centre and the positive effects of volunteering to the community. The Meath Volunteer Centre aims to place volunteers in roles that are fulfilling and engaging, and which contribute to the development of community and society. We can offer you advice, support and training on how best to involve and manage volunteers in your organisation to ensure that both you and volunteer has a positive experience.

Smoking Cessation Programme
A free community based smoking cessation service is available throughout Meath. This service provides confidential and personalised support to assist those who wish to quit smoking through the delivery of; One to One support, Group sessions, Drop in service (no appointment needed). The programme includes advice around preparation, planning and the use of nicotine replacement therapy to successfully quit smoking. Local and Community Development Programme
Meath Partnership is involved in the delivery of the LCDP for Co. Meath. This programme seeks to address disadvantage and to provide opportunities in this context for individuals and groups in society whose quality of life and economic circumstances can be improved. This programme can engage directly with State Agencies and Departments in seeking to improve the quality of support provided and the accessibility of these supports to the individual.
The Four Goals for the LCDP are:
- Promote awarenesss, knowledge and uptake of a wide range of statutory, voluntary and community services.
- Increase access to formal and informal educational, recreational and cultural activities and resources.
- Increase peoples work readiness and employment prospects.
- Promote active engagement with policy, practice and decision making processes on matters affecting local communities.
